When One Door Closes God Opens a Window

When most people say the phrase “When one door closes God opens another” or “When one door closes God opens a window” they look at it from an opportunity perspective, for the most part. God allowed me to lose my job so a better opportunity is going to open up for me ect. There’s nothing wrong with this, in that it’s true.

All things work out for those who love God. So if you know you love God and God said all things work out then there should be nothing you have to worry about, it’s going to work out for you!

I own a key chain that read’s “When one door closes God opens a window”. I thought about it in the same context as everyone else until God really opened a window for me. The phrase of faith wasn’t as literal anymore, but because of this experience it was figurative.

THERE was a time before a certain relationship ended in my life, that I would ponder on what to do next. While at a certain place a certain individual slammed the door. By this course of action and the words that were said between us allowed me to see a characteristic about this person that I just couldn't shake. Immediately following the closed door my key chain dropped. I picked it up and it read "When One door closes God opens a window". I had to give God a praise because that's exactly what happened. A door closed and God opened a window.

See how doors are meant to be shut while windows are meant to be open. When a window is opened light comes in. When you look through a window you can't hear sounds just see actions. While looking through the window I saw actions and from that God gave me the freewill to make the choice. I got understanding. My question to you is...

What windows are God opening for you in your life?

Proverbs 16:16 How much better is it to get wisdom than gold! and to get understanding rather to be chosen than silver!

The Fear of the LORD

When you ask God to direct your steps trust that he will. While on twitter I received a tweet from a woman of God named Tiara. She let me know about a people on fire for the Lord Jesus Christ, a group of evangelists by the name of RAVEN. From the link she gave me I was directed to the website "Big Grace.com". While on this site I felt a moving in the spirit that told me to listen to one of this mans sermons. The sermon I clicked on revealed to me this message:

"Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord we Persuade men

My persuasion will be equal to my revelation of the terror of the Lord

When I know the terror of the Lord I will be persuasive to Men

Tremble in repentance or tremble in fear for the judgment of God"

Upon hearing this message I felt God telling me to "Write the vision and make it Plain". We all like to speak about the mercy and love of God, but we seldom speak about his wrath as if it's not there.

The coldest winter in my life was the winter of 2008. 2008 is the year the Lord showed up in my life although he's been there the whole time. Jeremiah 1:5 "Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee..." This was a divine year for me where I couldn't deny the power of God.

Around this time I smoked a lot of marijuana and it was good for me...at least this is what I thought. Sometimes the things we think are good for us GOD doesn't want in our life and this was one of them. I know this because things began steadily change. Things began to happen to happen spiritually that I never thought possible before. These occurrences happened only when I smoked to the point where I promised God I wouldn't smoke anymore.

Needless to say I broke my promise with God and the world where I left from I fell right back into. In this spiritual realm I couldn't speak to God, my prayer fell short and everything that happened on television pointed directly to hell. Where was I? I didn't stick around to find out so I left my dwelling and walked around until I came to this window that had writing in red. "Kill Murder". These words effected me greatly.

Some days passed and I stopped smoking, but my woes didn't stop there. What had been happening in the spiritual realm while I smoked soon transpired to the world in which we live in. Although I tried to seek advice and counseling from both God fearing and non God fearing people I couldn't get an answer. Nobody knew what I was going through and I couldn't expect them to because neither did I. I was in fact experiencing a place the human mind doesn't go alone. Many people have been there Son of Sam, Eric Harris, Cho Seung-Hui and many others. I was lost in a lonely place that few people ever come to. I was stranded on an island left there to die. How I got there I knew not, how I would get off I knew not. I knew nothing. Alone in the dark satan tempted me, but God had another plan. It is with this experience and God's grace that the short film titled "Lost and Found" was created.

What the enemy uses to destroy you God will use for you. In the midst of this situation I found the nerve to disobey God yet again and smoke Marijuana knowing the consequences thereof, more than what I speak now. His wrath and Mercy were revealed to me this day unconventionally. In a way I never dreamed, imagined, or thought possible. Because I didn't have the fear of the LORD and turn away from marijuana and thought it better to disobey him and provoke him to anger and I FEARED the Lord - I trembled in his presence and hoped for mercy.

Jer 5:22 (NIV) "Should you not fear me?" declares the Lord. "Should you not tremble in my presence?"

2 Cor 5:11 (NIV) Since, then, we know what it is to fear the Lord, we try to persuade men...

Ps 34:11 (NEB) Come, my children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the Lord.

Mat 10:28 (NIV) [Jesus] "Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the one who can destroy both soul and body in hell."

Ps 111:10 (NEB) The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and they who live by it grow in understanding...

God Uses You to Represent Him

While at a meeting I had the privilege of meeting this great photographer. He has lived an accomplished life: Author of 10 extraordinary books and fantastic artwork. After the meeting we still had some things to discuss so he suggested that I stop by his studio. I believe the Lord allows things to happen for a reason so I accepted his offer and I followed behind him in my car.

I parked my car and entered the front door of his studio. I wasn’t surprised to see tons of breathless artwork and a desk filled with many papers because after all, this guy is well known in the town. Our discussion continued on to his office where I took a seat. To my far left over my shoulder there hung a picture of the last supper. Directly in front of me where the Artist sat there hung a picture of Jesus Christ. Seeing this I rejoiced in the spirit and asked the man if he believed in Jesus Christ. Hearing this he replied, “Yea I think he was an alien”. I laughed because I thought it was a joke. So I ask him if he was serious and he say’s “Yes I’m serious” and explains to me his reasoning.

While he spoke I looked up at the picture that was placed directly above the chair he sat in. Jesus stared directly at me, but the photographer didn’t notice him because he had his back toward him. It all came together after that. I thought to myself “Hey I’m Gods representative”. My friend don’t you know you are God’s Representative! He doesn’t have to part waters for every one; he showed you his might so that you may have the faith to bring another to Christ. Truth be told, God led me from ENYFA to Binghamton in part to share my faith with this elderly man. Isn’t God Good? He is the director of all steps. We both though we we’re going to his studio to discuss art and future plan, BUT GOD had another Idea. It was a DIVINE APPOINMENT!

I did a silent prayer and asked the Lord to give me the words to minister to this man without coming across as proud or having a spirit of ‘I’m right your wrong’. The Lord placed parables on my tongue to minister to him with. Not only that, but he also placed on my heart to share some of my testimony with him.

I told him that since I was in foster care the Lord has always placed people in my life to get me to the next level in where God wanted me to be. I spoke to him about a woman whom we both knew named Laura, a woman whom he had just met. While in the meeting earlier he complimented her on her dedication and enthusiasm. She then went on to say she’s the only one at her job with it. I explained to him the first time I met her I said to her, “I know you’re the best at what you do. I know you go above and beyond for your clients because God places these people in my life”. I was able to call it right off the back because of God’s Grace. Needless to say she goes out of her way for her clients beyond the job description you name it. Not only that she tells me that she doesn’t take walk ins, but decided to take me before her way out. DIVINE APPOINTMENT.

I shared this with the elderly artist and like his photography career “He got the picture”. We laughed and peace entered my spirit. It was as if God was telling me “I’ll take it from here”. I ask that you all pray for this man call him "The artist" God will know who you're talking about;)

My friend God will move you to a place where he can use you. With that said the same way a country chooses a leader to represent them in the UN God chooses us to represent his Kingdom in the world- Go out and Represent God

Search God in "Avatar"

Looking at the film Avatar from the truth of God’s Word will reveal hidden messages within the movie. The writer of this film might have done it intentionally or not, but the truth remains that as viewers, believers, and doers of Gods Word we’re able to hear him speaking to us through this film.

This is the dilemma that the protagonist Corporal faces as he enters the world of Avatar. He initially goes in as part of the Colonels mission, but soon realizes who the evil one is. The sinners in this film are the Colonel and his gang. They go to shed innocent blood on a race of people that do the humans no harm all because of the precious goods there land posses. They murder them cold blooded for riches. This is exactly what God warns us about in Proverbs 1:10 when he says,
“My son, if sinners entice you,
do not consent.
11 If they say, “Come with us, let us lie in wait for blood;
let us ambush the innocent without reason…13 we shall find all precious goods,
we shall fill our houses with plunder…”

Although God wasn’t speaking to the protagonist he is speaking to us, his children, the believers of the Gospel. This is overlooked in the film. Gods Word stands is can be seen by his children If we search for it. The validity of his word is in plain sight to those who believe. Could God be ministering to his children through this film? Continue to read pray about it and you decide. Know that in order to view films in a way that we can see God's Word Made Manifest we must have knowledge about God's Word. We must have a relationship with him. That's the beauty of searching for God because everyone has there on experiences with him and can share new insights. Hidden messages not intentionally put there by the screen writer, but intentionally put there by God himself.

One must transform the way they view cinema and Look for God in it.
In one way the film and decisions made by Corporal can be looked at as scripted and of his own. But look again. Line up his decisions with the Word of God. Is God speaking to him? And if so is he also speaking through him to us? Corporal decides to fight against the EVIL one or the Colonel and his army. God say’s in proverbs 15 “my son, do not walk in the way with them;
hold back your foot from their paths” This is exactly what Corporal does when he realizes that these people have souls and it would be wrong to kill them for no reason.

16 for their feet run to evil,
and they make haste to shed blood”“

Countless times the evil Colonel tries to take the Avatar by force while Corporal tries to by more time and make peace. Colonel is driven by money, rage, war, and blood shed.

17 For in vain is a net spread
in the sight of any bird,
18 but these men lie in wait for their own blood;
they set an ambush for their own lives.


Colonel and his army thought they would bomb the Avatar people get their gold and leave. Just like that shed innocent blood and make a fortune. WRONG. God say’s in the next verse,

19 Such are the ways of everyone who is greedy for unjust gain; it takes away the life of its possessors”“

What happened to Colonel at the end of the film? HE dies as well as the rest of his army with only a few remaining. They went against God’s Law. They were greedy of gain and suffered the consequences. They sought to take life, but instead they’re lives were taken.

Now with this same mentality let’s look at what God is has to say about the protagonist (Corporal) based off his Word.

13 Blessed is the one who finds wisdom, and the one who gets understanding,
14 for the gain from her is better than gain from silver and her profit better than gold.
15 She is more precious than jewels, and nothing you desire can compare with her.
16 Long life is in her right hand; in her left hand are riches and honor.
17 Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace.
18 She is a tree of life to those who lay hold of her; those who hold her fast are called blessed”

Corporal makes the decision to side with the Avatar based off of Wisdom. He chooses to stand by the Avatar instead of his own human race. God calls this man Blessed because he chose to walk in the way of wisdom and remove his foot from the evil path. God say’s that the gain of wisdom is better than gold and silver. HE gained wisdom by learning the culture of the Avatar an saw them as his own. Colonel on the other hand remained ignorant although the scientists as well as the protagonist try to give him some insight. He becomes the great warrior of the land and is honored and respected by all who dwell therin. He was first an outcast, but because he chose wisdom over silver he became honored. Wow if God isn’t speaking in this movie than I don’t know who is.

Although this film speaks about Demi gods we as Christians need to look past that and hold on to the morals of the one and true Living God, Jesus Christ.

It’s about transforming our minds to search for the God who sought us not only in film, but other mediums of entertainment as well. Remember he is Omnipotent and Omnipresent.
